Sunday School

Pastor Eric and our education chair, Professor Lola Kiser, have unveiled a series of one-month courses for you to choose from for our 2021-2022 adult education Sunday School year, beginning with our September 2021 course, a one-month thematic exploration of the verse Micah 6:8.

Each month’s class meets at 9:30 on Sunday mornings before our 10:30 worship service, and comes with its own syllabus, but with no homework or grades since, after all, we grow by faith! You are invited to choose and attend whichever classes fit your interests and schedule, knowing that each class represents only a one-month commitment before it is on to the next one! The current list of monthly topics is below, please note that 2022 topics are still subject to change:

September: Micah 6:8: Doing justice, loving kindness, and walking humbly with God

October: Mountains and Valleys in the Bible

November: Forgiveness

December: Preparing the way for Christmas

January: Grace

February: A History of Disciples of Christ of Color

March: Atonement Theory (Or, why is the Crucifixion so important?)

April: TBD
May: How the canon of the Bible was formed

We would love for you to join us in-person in our classroom down the hall from the church parlor (please wear a mask to protect each other from covid-19; if you do not have a mask we will be happy to offer you one), or on Zoom in Valley Meeting Room One at 9:30 on Sunday mornings before our 10:30 worship service. To join us on Zoom, click on the Links to Zoom tab on our pulldown menu and follow the directions for your device for Meeting Room One (the second option listed). Come as you are and be open to the Holy Spirit’s wisdom!
