Manna Market is a Certified Organic Produce CSA and CO-OP. All produce is grown chemical and pesticide free. They also teach Biodynamic farming and Permaculture. They hold a food distribution every other Tuesday at Valley Christian Church at a nominal cost.

New Horizons at UAB is a community group of mostly retired men and women that organize lectures, cultural events, field trips and other interesting activities around general interest topics. The subjects are as varied as the people and include current affairs to astrophysics, art to history and music to storytelling to list a few. They meet three times a week, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday mornings from 9:30 to 11:30 am at Valley Christian Church in their fellowship hall. They have three terms per year, a fall, winter and spring.
