Vision Statement
Valley Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) is a Bible-based, Spirit filled family where the love of God meets the world through outreach and a growing commitment to be the hands and feet of Jesus.
As a Disciples of Christ congregation, we adhere to the following beliefs and religious practices:
*We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of the living God and profess him as our Lord and Savior.
*We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God and is authoritative for how to structure and live our lives.
*We believe in celebrating the Lord’s Supper each time we gather to worship inviting all to share in this sacred meal set before us through the love and grace of our Lord.
*We believe in baptism by immersion whenever possible while recognizing the baptismal rites of other traditions.
*We believe in sacrificial giving of our time, talents and financial resources to further the mission and reach of the church.
*We believe all are capable and endowed with discernment of scripture as led by the Holy Spirit.
*We believe in the priesthood of all believers and celebrate our rich diveristy embracing all races, ethnicities, nationalities, gender and ages.
*We believe in Ecumenicalism seeking ways to build bridges and work for the unity of the whole church of Jesus Christ.
*We believe in an educated clergy that is not bound by gender, age or race.
What You Can Expect
*Visitors and members alike can expect to be warmly greeted, made to feel welcomed and appreciated for who they are.
*While some wear their “Sunday Best,” there is no formal dress code, all are welcomed as they are
*You can expect a Bible-based message, thoughtful prayers and an invitation to the Lord’s table.
*While we sing many of the traditional hymns many grew up with, we do mix in some contemporary music during our worship service.
*Our facilities are ADA compliant, and we have created space for those in wheelchairs to be able to sit next to family and friends while worshipping with us.
*We offer quiet activities for young people to engage with during worship.
*All are invited to join us immediately following the worship service for refreshments and fellowship.

Our Leadership
Rick Malugani – Senior Pastor
Rick Malugani has been our senior minister since January 2, 2024. He is a 2017 graduate of Lexington Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity degree. He began his ministerial journey at the age of 50 when he heard the call from God to move from the congregation to the pulpit. He brings authenticity to his ministry and believes that his life experiences before his call allow him to relate well to the issues and challenges many people face day to day. Rick brings passion and energy along with a good sense of humor to this ministry and believes that the best is yet to come. He and his wife Ellen have seven grandchildren, four of which live close by and they cherish the time they get to spend with them. Rick’s hobbies include basketball, woodworking, reading as well as taking day trips with his wife.

We invite you to worship with us on Sunday, a time of praise, prayer and the gathering around the Lord’s Table for our time of communion. We are a small congregation with big hearts dedicated to serving others through our talents and gifts and we view every opportunity to share as a gift from God. We are a loving and welcoming congregation that seeks to live out the hospitality and caring concern our Lord not only demonstrated but lived throughout his ministry.
