Fall at Valley on the Walking Trail

Valley Christian’s Education Department hosted a seminar on the history and culture of Ukraine on Saturday, September 30, 2023 with 36 attendees. Our speaker Mr. Tom Cain has traveled extensively to Ukraine and surrounding areas meeting the people and getting a greater understanding of their struggles for freedom. One of the most interesting facts that he discussed was that Ukraine as a country is only 33 years old. This area of territory has been invaded numerous times over the centuries by many armies, most recently by Russia. Sunflowers, and grains are what is mostly exported around the world to support their economy, Ukraine is a Christian country with many beautiful old world churches, one dating back 1000 years. Everyone enjoyed Mr. Cain’s presentation of the history and culture of Ukraine.
